Turbana offered 800 laptops to ten school in the Urabá region, the largest region of banana cultivation in Colombia
The operation OLPC (One Laptop Per Child), to improve children's future through better education.
Fundauniban is an OLPC partner and gives 800 laptops to 10 schools in the region of Urabá. A poor region, affected by guerrillas drug traffickers, Urabá is the largest banana-growing area of Colombia. Children mostly do not know computers but this operation will allow them to connect to the world.
Uniban is a cooperative founded by banana producers in Colombia. Turbana is the trademark for export. Turbana comes from the name of the largest port in the region, Turbo, and banana.
