The exported volume will be less according to the latest estimate in South Africa.
SATI (South African Table Grape Industry) has lowered its harvest and therefore export forecasts due to rains that affected the northern regions of the country.
In December, SATI's 1st estimate indicated that the country could export between 61 and 66.3 million cartons (= 4.5kg). A few weeks later, SATI's second estimate indicates a net decline, the exported volume should be between 59.55 and 66.3 million cartons (= 4.5kg).
According to SATI, this drop in estimates is due to a drop in volumes from the northern regions of the country. Production was affected by unusual rains which reduced the volumes harvested.
