Live from Fruit Attraction, Madrid: Already 40 years for TROPS, continuing to innovate

TROPS was created in Velez-Malaga on October 8, 1979 by 5 farmers from the region of Axarquía. In order to offer their products directly, without going through any intermediary in the national and international market.

 

 

 

Four decades later, the cooperative has more than 2,800 associated farmers located in the south of the peninsula, from Portugal to Alicante.

 

 

 

In the beginning, the company focused on strawberry production. But in 1993, the company changed its approach and specialized in avocado, a crop that perfectly adapted to the mild and almost subtropical climate of the region. Years later, the mango joins the avocado.

 

 

 

Today TROPS is the first transnational producer organization in Andalusia. TROPS advises, plans and markets the entire production of its members, which represents 40% of avocado production and 55% of mango production in Spain.

 

 

 

New growing techniques, research results and member engagement allow TROPS to supply any global market in the best conditions.

 

 

 

With the goal of consolidating and improving farm viability, TROPS has been working on the launch of new products. Like the FRUDEL gazpacho and the FRUDEL guacamole, made from TROPS avocados. The guacamole has no additives and is organic.
