A 10,000m2 show that brought together more than 150 exhibitors and welcomed more than 20,000 visitors in 2018.
The Guangzhou Fruit Expo will be held June 27-29 in Guangzhou (China). Dozens of Chinese and international companies will be present at the show whose organizers wish to focus on the modernisation of cold chains in China.
In China according to a survey conducted by the Prospective Industry Research Institute the loss rate, between harvesting transport and storage, for fruits and vegetables reaches 20 to 30%. About 130 million tonnes of vegetables and 12 million tonnes of fruit are lost each year.
Currently, fruit and vegetable production in China is concentrated in Shandong, Hebei, Henan and other provinces. These producing regions are far from consumption areas (Guangdong, Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Shandong, etc.). Dispersed production sites and long-distance transportation help maintain these high volumes of lost products.
The overall logistics development sector in China is long overdue. Also, to reduce losses in the transit of agricultural products, it is necessary to develop modern logistics, especially for a more efficiency of the cold chain with greater capacity for conservation.
The Fruit Expo organising committee sincerely invites all cold chain logistics professionals to come and present their products.
