For 12 consecutive years, Mexico's agricultural and fishery exports experienced year-on-year growth, and in 2021 they reached a record value of 19.668 million dollars ($19.6 billion), which is 7.6% higher than in 2020, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader).
From 2009 to 2021, the country's agricultural exports grew 155%, from 7.726 million dollars.
According to ranking from Banxico, the most exported Mexican products in terms of value are avocados ($2.7 billion), tomatoes ($2.2 billion), peppers/peppers ($1.3 billion), strawberries ($650 million), walnuts/almonds/pistachios ($608 million), and cucumbers ($569 million).
From January to December 2021, the export products that showed the most significant annual advances are avocado (43.1%), melon, watermelon and papaya (35.8%), strawberry (22.3%) and tomato (11.5%).
