Pakistan expects to export more than 300,000 tons of kinnow

The kinnow season begins in Pakistan at the end of November, the first exports will leave the country on December 3rd.

 
 
 
For this new season Pakistan is expected to export just over 300,000 tons (340,000 tons last year). The kinnow season lasts from December to March with a peak production in mid-January.
 
 
 
Professionals estimate that production is good but slightly less than in the previous year. They also predict an export volume of 320,000 tons.
 
 
 
Pakistan ranks among the top 10 citrus-producing countries in the world. The country has a production capacity of 1.28 million tons per season. As for its exports, the main destinations are the markets of the Middle East. Iran buying nearly 20% of the volume. This year negotiations are underway with Indonesia for possible exports in December and January.
