New international promotion step for MACFRUT

 

 

Zambia is 2 and a half times larger than Italy, and the country is converting its extensive agriculture (maize, cattle breeding) to intensive farming. Many farmers are developing horticultural crops, particularly tomatoes and peppers, as well as different types of tropical fruits for the local and regional market.

 

 

 

In 2017, a group of 16 companies - 15 from Zambia and 1 from Malawi - visited MACFRUT, showing great interest and very positive results.

 

 

 

"The fruit and vegetable sector in Zambia is growing rapidly and there are good opportunities for Italian technology companies," said Enrico Turoni, president of Consorzio Cermac.

 

 

 

"We were literally overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and hospitality of the Zambian farmers, who informed us of their wish to participate in the next edition of MACFRUT" said Mr. Renzo Piraccini, President of Cesena Fiera.
