APEAM (Asociación de Productores y Empacadores Exportadores de México) said that the entire sector continues to work and that it is able to meet demand.
For APEAM, one of the priorities is the health of all members of the avocado value and production chain. In accordance with the recommendations of the health authorities, preventive measures are taken throughout the process (production, packaging, transport). To date, there have been no infections among workers in the Michoacan avocado industry.
The other priority for the Association is not to cut the food supply. Producers and associated packers strive to meet current and future demand from all of their markets. By adapting to the needs of markets which, given the situation, have changed, especially in countries where containment persists. These professionals maintain the normal flow for orders from avocado importers.
