Philippine agri-startups look for buyers and investors in Taiwan

Ten Philippine agri-startups and micro-agripreneurs took their products and technologies to Taiwan Smart Agriweek 2026 in search of market access, investment and technology partnerships.

The delegation was organised by the Department of Agriculture’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service together with the Manila Economic and Cultural Office and the Philippine Trade and Investment Center in Taipei. The companies were given opportunities to meet buyers and investors, receive market feedback and develop commercial leads.

Four of the ten participants had reached the Top 40 of the Global Agrifood Innovation Championship. Their projects include botanical pesticides and agricultural inputs from PHYTOSPHERE, a natural preservative made from watermelon peels and rinds by WamPLVS+, smart-farming technology from Farmyra Technologies and PETROTECHS’ digital and equipment solutions for producers.

The programme also included a Philippines-Taiwan Investment Forum where businesses could pitch directly to importers, investors and industry groups. According to the Philippine trade office in Taipei, the engagement produced new trade leads and potential cooperation in smart agriculture, technology and investment.
