Turkish exports of fresh fruits and vegetables in April : a mixed picture

According to statistics published by the Mediterranean Exporters Union, vegetables exports have fallen by 35% in quantity, those of citrus fruit by 38%, but exports have increased by 72% in volume and 2% in value.
It is the apple that is at the origin of this rise with 208% increase compared to the same period in 2014, representing 75% of total fruit exports, followed by strawberry. The grenade, despite 73% increase in quantity is only 6th place.
The top three importing countries are Iraq, who represent 66% of the total market and whose imports increased by 166%, the Russian Federation, with 13% market share and Syria, with a 12% market share and a resumption of imports of 268% compared to April 2014.
Note the 34% increase in imports of England, while imports from Germany declined 10% compared to last year in the same period.
