Peach production to rebound after 2 difficult years

In the state of South Carolina (USA) the peach season has just started and will extend until September.
After two seasons in which the climatic events have had a negative impact on South Carolina (USA) peaches, this season has just recorded an episode of heavy rains followed by floods, but the producers consider the harvest abundant and good quality.
This year the harvest will be very satisfactory according to professionals. Despite the heavy rains and floods that have affected some production areas, the peach season has just started and will extend until September. The harvest is considered abundant and the quality of the fruits excellent.
South Carolina peach production is primarily for the domestic market. The state is the 2nd largest producer behind California, along with Georgia and New Jersey. According to federal statistics the state of South Carolina produced 110,050 tons of peaches in 2010; 68,880 tons of peaches in 2015, 52,800 tons of peaches in 2016 and only 12,500 tons in 2017, where late frost caused 85-90% of the harvest to be lost.
