The exportation of mangoes started

Pakistan started the 2013 campaign of mango exports.

This is the Ministry of Commerce that fixes a starting date for the export of mangoes. This year, it was May 25 and a first shipment of 400 tons of mangoes left the country. Destination: Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Kingdom and Germany.

The objective of the exports this year is to reach 175,000 tons and 60 million U.S. $.

The mango harvest starts from the third week of May and extends until 15 September with the late variety Chaunsa White. Pakistan produces about 1.8 million tons of mangoes annually and exports about 100,000 tonnes.
