The Italian consortium Mediterranean Fruit Company (MFC), aimed at improving the internationalization of the Country’s companies involved in the fresh produce sector, has just changed leadership: the new president is Roberto Graziani (50, owner of Graziani Packaging) who succeeds Renzo Piraccini (Apofruit general manager).
MFC comprises 27 main companies from the Italian fruit and vegetable production and trade sectors, technology providers, packaging and service companies. In recent years the consortium has organized workshops, business missions and participation to international exhibitions to promote Italian fresh produce industry on foreign markets.
Prior to the start of the Mediterranean free trade zone scheduled for 2010, MFC has opened three offices in Egypt (Cairo), Tunisia (Tunisia) and Turkey (Adana) to experience from the inside the market situation and to promote Italian fresh products and technologies.
Outgoing president Piraccini declared: “My experience during these first five years of MFC’s activity was extraordinary, both professionally and in terms of human relations. We had the possibility to directly consider our companies’ concrete potentials to start business exchanges with the most productive areas in the world, as well as to face the difficulties arising from a wider business ground. I think that there is still much work to do for MFC in this regards and we will keep on relying on its undisputed role as useful internationalization tool”, Piraccini highlighted.
