Decrease of apples and pears production in Switzerland

Apples production will decrease of a quarter and pears production will be lower than a normal year.
Apples harvest could be one of the less plentiful of the last 10 years. That of the pears could be sharply less plentiful than a normal year.
Fruit Swiss Union announces harvest expectations of 92 ' 300 tons of apples that is a decline of about a quarter (23 %) compared to the last year.
Concerning pears, the estimation is 12 '000 tons (10 000 less than in 2009).
These deficits are mainly due to the weather report which disrupted flowering and growth of fruits.
