Australian stone fruit growers hit by quarantine rules

Australian stone fruit growers are likely to miss out on AU$15 million worth of sales to Taiwan. On January 1st Taiwan introduced new quarantine rules for Australian stone fruit, citing fears of Queensland fruit fly. This means that the growers will be unable to sell their fruit for the lucrative Chinese New Year period at the end of January.
