Chile resumes apple exports to Peru

The reopening comes after almost three months of market closure.
The Peruvian market has reopened to Chilean apples after the Agriculture and Livestock Service (SAG) and Senasa Peru updated the work plan for exporting this fruit. With the official resolution published in Peru’s official gazette, shipments resumed on April 17.
The reopening follows nearly three months of market closure, caused by the detection of quarantine pests in Chilean shipments. According to Peruvian regulations, repeated detections of such pests require the suspension of imports.
