Vietnamese consumers favor U.S. products for their consistent quality standards.
Vietnam’s imports of fruits and vegetables from the U.S. reached approximately VND 1.3 trillion (US$51 million) per month in the first quarter of 2025, making the U.S. its fastest-growing supplier, according to Vinafruit, an industry organization representing producers, exporters, importers, and traders in Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable sector.
In the first quarter of 2025, imports from the U.S. increased by 55.4%, totaling US$160 million, and accounted for 26.5% of Vietnam’s total fruit and vegetable imports, second only to China. This growth is driven by the high quality of U.S. produce and recent tariff reductions on various items.
Local importers note that Vietnamese consumers favor U.S. products for their consistent quality standards. U.S. exporters are stepping up their efforts.
On April 22, American blueberry producers promoted their products in Ho Chi Minh City, reporting a 64% increase in shipments in 2024. Imports are expected to continue rising, supported by lower tariffs and ongoing trade talks between Vietnam and the U.S.
