The island of Jersey done its accounts: lower volume (2,000 tons) and income (-2 £ million) for the export of potatoes.
Exports of potatoes from Jersey recorded a decline.
According to the report of the agricultural statistics, the island of Jersey in 2012 sold 30,890 tons of potatoes for a value of £ 30.8 million, in 2012 only 28 600 tons with a value of £ 28.6 million.
These declines in volumes and revenues could be explained by the difficult weather conditions, which resulted in a lower production. Over the period, the cultivated area decreased by less than 1%.
