Vietnam opens market to Indian grapes

Indian exporters will have to meet strict cold treatment and phytosanitary requirements for shipments.
India has gained market access for fresh grape exports to Vietnam, according to India’s Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA).
Vietnam approved imports of Indian grapes on 6 May 2026, with shipments allowed under a strict phytosanitary protocol. Exporters must follow a “system approach” for pest management and carry out in-transit cold treatment at 1.1°C for 15 consecutive days. APEDA said the import requirements have already been shared with exporters.
The opening adds another Asian destination for Indian grapes as exporters continue diversifying beyond traditional markets in Europe and the Middle East. Vietnam’s rising demand for imported fresh fruit is creating opportunities for suppliers able to meet tighter quality and traceability standards.
