The surfaces of potatoes increased by 3.8%

Increase in areas (+3.8%) and projected rise in output (+9.2%) calculated on the average return of the last 5 years.
According to data from NEPG which groups five European countries (Belgium, France, Netherlands, United Kingdom).
The NEPG (North-Western European Potato Growers), Group of producers of potatoes of Northwest European assesses the surfaces of consumption potatos to 530 000 ha. This represents an increase of 3.8% compared to last year.
Based on the assumption of return, the average of the past five years, an increase of 9.2% is expected in production compared to 2012, represtenting 24.28 million tons.
