Signs of normalisation in the country as associations are being organized to coordinate and promote the export of fresh and dried fruits.
Structures are now in place to coordinate and promote exports of dried fruits and fresh fruit.
The FFEUK (Fresh Fruit Export Union of Kandahar) is composed of traders able to export the fruits of Kandahar. The FFEUK just completed a new unit for packaging and storage to faciliate shipments. Shipments can be made by truck, via Karachi, by sea and by air via Kabul. Fruit: apricots, figs, grapes, melons,
pomegranates, watermelons.
The DFEAK (Dried Fruit Export Association of Kandahar) is composed of traders able to export dried fruits and nuts of the Kandahar region. The processing unit can offer shelled or unshelled, treated fruit or unprocessed. Shipments can be made by truck, via Karachi, by sea and by air via Kabul. Almonds, apricots, walnuts, pistachios, hazelnuts ...
