Egypt will be able to resume exports of some of its products to Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
Egypt's agricultural exports grew by 13.9% in the first nine months of 2017 and those to Europe grew by 21%. These good results will be further amplified by the end of the blocking decided by Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.
The Minister of Agriculture announced the end of the blockage of imports from Egypt. This ban had been imposed on some Egyptian products such as pepper, lettuce, onions and guava.
Several meetings with the officials of these 3 countries made it possible to smooth out the different ones and to set up a new strategy. Phytosanitary controls will be strengthened, closer coordination will be established and standards monitored.
