Indian grapes export volumes will decrease in 2021.

Export volumes of Indian grapes to Europe has dropped by around 25 percent over the past year.
The ongoing pandemic situation that is keeping the demand restricted leads to a fall in shipments of Indian grapes to Europe in 2020-2021.
According to the Agricultural and Processed Foods Export Development Authority (APEDA), the annual export growth rate of grapes to Europe has been diminishing from 32 percent for the fiscal year 2016-2017 to a negative 12 percent in the fiscal year 2019-2020.
Future exports might drop by around 10 to 15 percent as there is no high demand from the European importers.
Grape growers explain that this year’s season has been deferred by around 25 percent due to the extended rainfall. Nevertheless, the grape quality is better this season. The heavier precipitation and cloudy weather in Maharashtra, which is the biggest producer of grapes, will result in damage and dropping of the fruit, and pesticides expenses.
Grape exporters of the country count on the local market to compensate for the losses of the export businesses.
