Pear production records a decline by 14%

Pear production has declined in Russia, the last harvests represent half of the record of 2007 production.

Decline in pear production in Russia, for the 2013/14 season.

According to the data of WAPA (World Apple and Pear Association) taken by Prior Control, pear production 2013/14 registers a decline by 14% compared to the previous season. The production 2013/14 amounted to 43,000 tons, that of the 2012/13 season had amounted 50 000 tons.

The 2013/14 production is the lowest result over 10 years, far from the record production of 96,000 tons recorded for the 2007/08 season.
