New edition of Apple Day Friday 21 September: Producers will distribute thousands of apples to the population in dozens of locations throughout Switzerland.
Organized by FRUIT-UNION SUISSE, Apple Day draws attention to the quality and diversity of indigenous and regional apple varieties and expands their knowledge of their uses.
In addition to the free distributions made by arborists, several companies will also participate in the event by distributing apples to their customers.
The apple is the favorite fruit of the Swiss who consume 15.8 kg per person / year, far more than bananas 9.3 kg per person / year and grapes 4.5 kg per person / year. But also more than chocolate 11.7 kg per person / year.
