Peru's blueberry exports to China could total about 10 million USD this year.
With the growing demand of China's huge market, Peru expects to further expand its blueberry exports, which could total around 10 million USD in 2017.
After the first shipments at the beginning of the year and the huge success of their marketing, Peru predicts that China will soon become a preferred destination for its blueberries. Bluberry production this year is estimated at 32 000 tonnes, the majority of which will be exported.
Exports of Peruvian blueberries to Asia are very recent. The first exports to Hong Kong date from 2013 and have yielded about USD 3.7 million. Then, it was not until November 2016 for the signing of export agreements to China and early 2017 for the first expeditions.
