Greek exports still up, kiwis set for new record

Greek exports remained on a clear upward trend in January, extending last year's results and offering encouraging signs for the export outlook in 2020.
For the month of January, exports to the EU increased by 11.4% and exports to third countries increased by 8.1%. Incofruit-Hellas announces in its latest report a new record for kiwi fruit exports. The country totaled 138,368 tonnes of exported kiwis (based on export figures as of Friday March 6), compared to 101,283 tonnes in the same period last year.
Other Greek exports are performing well, such as mushrooms, which increased by 16.4% to a total of 111,165 tonnes (95,480 tonnes in 2019), or tomatoes with 10,284 tonnes (9,812 in 2019), and strawberries with 8,318 tonnes (5,490 in 2019), figures from October 1, 2019 to March 6, 2020.
The report also showed that exports of oranges, lemons, cucumbers and apples have so far been increasing.
