Peru exported over 2.2 million kilos of Cusco white corn by May

This export activity highlights Cusco’s strong role in Peru’s white corn trade, especially in the Spanish market.
Between January and May 2025, Peru exported over 2.2 million kilos of white corn from the Cusco region, generating $5.43 million in revenue, according to data from Agrodata.
Spain was the top buyer, accounting for $3.87 million or 76% of the total export value. Other key destinations included the United States with $734,752 (13%), China with $425,582 (8%), and Japan with $143,688 (3%).
Smaller shipments went to other countries, adding up to $251,348, or 5% of the total.
