Increase in production of apricots in the region of Batna in Algeria.
The Batna region predicts an increase of 20% of its production of apricots.
Agricultural services foresee a 20% increase of the production of apricots this year. The 2013 harvest should reach 700,000 quintals of apricots with yields of 130 to 160 quintals per hectare.
The relaunching of crops of apricots in the region is satisfactory. The efforts of the state and producers (water resources, irrigation, new varieties, cultivation methods) are successful. This increase in production is also accompanied by an increase in fruit quality.
