On October 30, the first Chilean cherries of the campaign arrived in China. Early varieties such as Brooks, Royal Dawn and Glen Red were imported, Chilean media reports.
It should be noted that in 2023 the Chinese New Year will be celebrated on January 22, about 10 days earlier than in 2022. Since the country's largest cherry sales take place in the run-up to the Chinese New Year, an early celebration means a shorter calendar, tighter shipments and great pressure for exporters.
