Oscar winners announced at Macfrut

Macfrut 2011, Cesena’s fruit and vegetable trade fair, came to a successful end. On Friday 7 October, the last day of the event, the eagerly awaited 'Macfrut Oscars' for innovation were awarded.

These awards were created to promote products with distinctive innovative content developed for the fruit and vegetable sector, and which are already on the market.

At the 2011 edition, 18 nominations were submitted and a panel of experts selected the winner for each of the 4 categories in the competition.

The winners:

Machines and Technologies for Selection and Packaging category - Genius (optical laser sorter) from Best Sorting;

Packaging and Packaging Materials: Dynamic Shipper (bin with rising floor) from Polymer Logistics Italy;

Seeds and Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Products category: the Fresh market tomato from ISI Sementir

Logistics and Services category: Senzytec 2 (ethanol analyser) from Tectronik.

The top prize, decided by votes cast by visitors and exhibitors of Macfrut 2011, went to Sorma Group.
