Larger Crops of Apples in Hungary

Processing industry and the Government of Hungary(GOH) expect a larger crop of apples in season 2006/07 with a growth from 466.000 tonnes (2005/06) to 550.000 this season. The quality of the crop is also better than last year, and the share of branded table apples will be higher than in average years. According to recent agricultural census the dominant variety is still traditional Jonathan type.
