Australian professionals estimate that demand from Indonesian consumers will grow and rise in line.
An important market with a population of 255 million inhabitants, including a middle class, estimated at 50 million people, rapidly growing and which will increase its demand for high-value food products and quality fresh fruit and vegetables.
Australia already exports wheat and sugar to Indonesia, but also cherries, broccoli, cabbage, avocado and citrus. The sector believes that Indonesian consumers will rapidly upgrade and amplify their demands for healthy fruits such as blueberry and other berries. Various Australian professionals are beginning to position themselves, multiplying agreements and partnerships.
The NZ-Australia-ASEAN commercial zone comprises 600 million inhabitants and constitutes a market weighing 2 billion USD. These markets "at the gates" of Australia represent an opportunity not to be neglected for the Australian agricultural production which enjoys an excellent reputation in all south-east Asia.
