Auchan is in negotiations with Landmark to set up a joint venture in India.
French group Auchan has held talks with Landmark Group to set up a joint venture in India, according to an Indian newspaper.
Landmark manages Spar in India, with a licensing agreement signed in 2007 that will end this year
.
The possible agreement will depend on the country's decision to allow the development of foreign companies in the mass market. India had suspended its plan to open its retail sector last December after strong reactions in the country.
