Rise in vegetables production in 2001

The Austrian production of vegetables was increasing in 2001 with 533 200 tons. Onions and carrots are the main farming :the carrot production rose by 7% on 1 357 hectares to reach 64 970 tons ; the surface dedicated to onions is stable with 2 303 hectares and a yield of 50 tons/ha.
