Peru on track for new fresh lime export record in 2025

Peru’s fresh lime exports are on the verge of setting a new annual record after shipments reached 40,378 tonnes between January and October 2025, already nearing the 41,602 tonnes exported during the whole of 2024, according to figures from Peru’s National Customs and Tax Administration (Sunat).
Export value has also shown strong performance. So far this year, fresh lime exports have generated US$ 36 million, approaching the US$ 41 million recorded in all of 2024.
The United States remains the leading destination, absorbing 38.6% of total volumes, followed by Chile with 25.7%. Other key markets include Panama and the Netherlands (both 8.9%), the Dominican Republic (5.9%), and other destinations accounting for 11.9%.
On the production side, Piura dominates national output with an 81.2% share, followed by Lambayeque at 16.2%. Ica contributes 1.8%, while other regions collectively account for 0.8%.
