Policy direction indicates continued public support for organic production systems and gradual growth in certified supply over the coming years.
Mexico is promoting certification systems to expand organic fruit and vegetable production under its agricultural development strategy for 2025-2030, according to the Government of the State of Morelos in its official agricultural programme.
The plan highlights certification tools such as the national “Orgánico México” label as a way to help producers increase product value and improve access to markets.
Authorities state that certification is intended to support farmers entering higher-value segments and responding to demand for sustainably produced food. Fruit and vegetable crops are among the agricultural products included in the certification and technical support measures outlined in the programme.
For the fresh produce sector, the policy direction indicates continued institutional support for certified organic production and the gradual expansion of compliant fruit and vegetable supply in the coming years.
