To reduce wasted volumes and thus valorize products "non-compliant" to marketing, a group of farmers wives had the idea to develop a vodka made from carrots.
This collective of wives, for some years, works to the valorisation of the "ugly" products that can not be sold in the usual circuits. After the desserts and carrot bread, it was decided to try to make an alcohol. A local spirits specialist provided assistance and a vodka made from carrots was created.
The carrots are reduced to a slurry which is distilled and then infused with grapes. In each 500 ml bottle there are about 20% of carrots; the slogan, rightly chosen, is "Drink your vegetables".
