The European harvest forecast for Apricot presented at MEDFEL 2017.
European crop forecasts were unveiled at MedFEL, 2017. Apricot production will be up by 17% from 2016 and by 10% in comparison to the average in recent years.
The French, Italian, Spanish and Greek representatives reported on the expected volumes. Production of apricots in these 4 countries (France, Italy, Spain and Greece) is estimated at 572 000 tonnes. This volume is 17% higher than in 2016 (490,000 tonnes) and 10% higher than the 2011-15 average.
Significant increase in production in France (+ 39.45%), Italy (+ 19.48%) and Greece (+ 40.51%). Spain alone expects production to be lower than in 2016.
