Apulia cherries´ international promotion

To promote typical Apulia’s cherries on foreign markets, exporters from this southern Italian region will participate in a special event on 13-15 May in Bari (South Italy) organized by the Italian institute of foreign trade ICE and the local authority for Agrofood Resources.
For the initiative some ten German, British and Slovenian trade operators and journalists have been invited, chosen by ICE foreign offices in Dusseldorf, London and Lubjana.
The summit will consist on a workshop followed by bilateral meetings on the 13th; in the next days visits to the most significant productive and commercial enterprises have been organized wthin the area of Bari, which account for 90% of the regional cherry growing.
Typical Apulia’s cherries are expected to receive the Protected Geographical Indication PGI soon.
