Its production of organic food registers a steady and sustained growth.
The Dominican Republic has seen the 1st installation of organic food production in the 1980s, since then their expansion is continuous. Over the last six years, the country has recorded an increase by +30% of its production of organic foods.
Currently the Dominican Republic is the world's No. 1 for the export of organic cocoa, organic coffee and organic bananas and one of the first for lemons and organic oranges, organic honey, organic vegetables.
The country now has more than 23,000 organic producers, the exports allow to enter more than 200 million U.S. dollars revenue.
