The 2017 balance sheet is very satisfactory for Uzbekistan, which recorded a 15% increase in value for its exports of Fruits & Vegetables and plans to further expand its shipments in 2018.
For the year 2017, according to data from the State Statistics Committee, exports of Fruits & Vegetables generated $ 708.8 million, or 15% more than in 2016. In this total, the share of fruits and berries were 35.9%, vegetables 30.7%, grapes 22.5% and processed products 4.1%.
In 2017 the main trading partners were Kazakhstan, Russia, Afghanistan, China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Iraq. Agreements on the supply of Fruits & Vegetables for 2018 and 2019 have been signed with South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, the United States, Indonesia and Germany. The sector plans to expand its exports to other countries in Southeast Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and America.
