In addition to transporting large volumes of asparagus, AAC also shipped high volumes of lettuce, tomatoes and mangoes to Asia during the first half of 2018.
In the first six months of the year, AAC (American Airlines Cargo) transported nearly 5,500 tonnes of fresh asparagus around the world.
Productions from Mexico and Peru provide the majority of early season asparagus for Europe and Asia. The peak demand for fresh spring asparagus in Europe starts in mid-February and lasts until Easter, when the campaign begins in the United States.
Asia is one of the most important markets for asparagus grown in the United States. This spring, AAC was carrying many vegetable shipments daily between Los Angeles (LAX) and Tokyo (NRT). In addition to transporting large volumes of asparagus, AAC also shipped high volumes of lettuce, tomatoes and mangoes to Asia during the first half of 2018.
AAC has facilities for perishable goods and sensitive and temperature-sensitive products in Los Angeles (LAX), Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), Miami (MIA), and London Heathrow (LHR).
