South Korean Market Opens for Brazilian Mangoes

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture announces the opening for the mangoes of the South Korean market.
After 13 years of negotiations, South Korea opens its market to mangoes from Brazil announced MAPA (Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento).
The agreement came after the recent trip to the production areas of an inspection mission which had been preceded by several technical visits. South Korea is a major importer of mangoes and other exotic fruits. The country spent around BRL 48 million (€ 14.5 million) in 2016 on imports of exotic fruits from Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, Pakistan, Australia, India , Peru and the United States.
MAPA aims to raise fresh product exports from 6.9% to 10% in 5 years, the Asian market is a priority to achieve this goal.
