Chinese pears arrived in Chile for the first time

Chilean consumers will discover Chinese pears and new varieties. (photo vanwhole-produce).
As part of the reciprocal trade policy that exists between China and Chile, the latter will receive the first import of Chinese pears.
This first importwill be in 2 loads the last of which must arrive in Chile the first week of December. ASOEX, the fruit exporters' association, provided full support and coordinated the operation. Promotion / tasting events will take place from December to mid-January at various points of sale in Santiago.
This first arrival includes 3 varieties of high quality pears, varieties that are not found in Chile. The main varieties produced in China are Asian pears such as Snow, Ya, Huangguan, Fengshui, Fragant, Nanguo. The majority of Chinese production is harvested between August and October.
