According to the President of the Russian agricultural research company SovEcon, Andrey Sizov , Russian exporters and Turkish importers, having gone through a period of uncertainty in November and mid-December after tensions between Russia and Turkey, have started their Business as usual.
Russia is the largest exporter of wheat in the world and Turkey is one of its most important markets with some 4.7 million tonnes of wheat. In order not to lose this size market , Russian wheat exporters have even lowered their price of 214 US dollars to 200 dollars for delivery port of the Black Sea.
Turkey imports 80 percent of its wheat from Russia and Turkish importers were concerned that Russia take measures , as it has done in other areas , to reduce its wheat sales to Turkey.
