The India-Russia trade route could be activated
FJ
The North-South (North South Corridor) Corridor, connecting India to Russia, remaines at the state of project and could be quickly activated.
With the Corridor, direct links (by sea, rail and road) are possible between India and Russia and then Europe (the aim of original project). From ports on the west coast of India to Bandar Abbas in Iran, then overland / railway to the port of Bandar Anzali on the Caspian Sea, crossing the Caspian Sea, and finally paths through the former Soviet republics to Russia.
Little progress had been made since the intergovernmental agreements signed in 2001 between Russia, Iran, India and Oman. Recent events may precipitate the remaining infrastructure construction (a few thousand kilometers of railways) to make the Corridor functional.
This new trade route would be a real opportunity for Indian exports.
