Christina Freier takes over Fruit Logistica leadership
Under Freier’s leadership, the event is expected to sharpen its role as a business and networking platform for exhibitors, buyers and industry decision-makers.
Christina Freier has been appointed Director of Fruit Logistica, taking over the role from Alexander Stein.
Freier brings more than 20 years of experience at Messe Berlin, where she has worked across several international event formats since joining the company in 2006. Before moving into the Fruit Logistica role, she served as Senior Project Manager for ITB Americas, a new B2B brand focused on strategic development in international markets. She had also been acting as Interim Director of Fruit Logistica since February 2026.
Her appointment places her at the head of one of the most important meeting points for the global fresh produce industry. Fruit Logistica covers the full fresh fruit and vegetable supply chain, from production and technology to logistics, trade and retail.
Under Freier’s leadership, the event is expected to sharpen its role as a business and networking platform for exhibitors, buyers and industry decision-makers. Her priorities include supporting innovation, improving targeted connections between companies and expanding the congress programme as a space for industry knowledge and debate.
Freier said Fruit Logistica has a unique position in bringing together companies from across the global fresh produce sector, adding that the fair will continue to develop as a platform for business, innovation and knowledge exchange.
Messe Berlin CEO Mario Tobias described the appointment as an important step for the future of the trade fair, pointing to Freier’s knowledge of the company, its customers and international markets, as well as her ability to identify new industry trends.
A wider fresh produce network
Fruit Logistica 2026 brought together around 2,600 exhibitors from approximately 90 countries and welcomed about 90,000 participants from 151 countries.
The brand also operates beyond its Berlin edition through Asia Fruit Logistica, regional meet-ups in China, Thailand and Peru, and the wider Fruitnet congress network. Together, these formats connect more than 3,600 exhibitors and over 120,000 industry professionals each year.
