Cherry exports to India increased 53%

Activities focused on promoting market diversification carried out by the Chilean Cherry Committee resulted in a 53% year-on-year increase in exports of cherries to India in the 2021-2022 season.
Charif Christian Carvajal, ASOEX Marketing Director for the Asian and European markets, commented that Indian importers, wholesalers and retailers reported good sales of Chilean cherries.
According to Carvajal, the union has launched campaigns at the level of digital commerce, retailers and greengrocers in 10 large cities.
He specified that the promotions in social networks through local opinion leaders reached a coverage of more than 2.3 million visits. In addition, advertisements and articles have been published in the TIMES newspaper of Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida.
