Thailand could increase exports by 20%

Becoming the first fruit and vegetable supplier in Vietnam, Thailand could further increase its market share.
The " Bangkok Post" newspaper announced that Thailand is now the first fruit and vegetable supplier in Vietnam according to Vietnamese Customs Department. Thai products accounted for 34.2% market share in excess of products imported from China that they totaled 23% market share.
The main Thai products exported to Vietnam are mangoes, durian , longan and mangosteen . Mangosteens shipments have also this year reached unprecedented volumes.
Thai exporters believe they can increase their shipments up to 20% in Vietnam. Due to a middle class that is expected to increase its expenditure on food and buy Thai fruit, even if their prices are higher than local products.
These Thai professionals believe also that it is important to maintain a good quality of fruit for export and avoid shipping low-quality products for the sole purpose of wanting to increase its market share.
